Joy Cioci launched her eponymous collection during Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and after two seasons at the coveted event the Florida native feels right at home. Her presentation at the Box of the Lincoln Center was rather refreshing, and chiffon took center stage. The material came in many shapes and forms — sheer, printed, opaque, solid, pastel, pleated and draped — combined with fur, cashmere and crepe. The layers of fur, cashmere and leather were in fact quite impressive and worked well against the femininity and softness of the rest.
A few noteworthy items included a silk chiffon snakeskin print blouse combined with a beautiful butterfly chiffon skirt; a leather dress with boucle piping paired with a boucle jacket with leather details; or the ivory cashmere coat with rabbit and fox fur bodice, put over a pleated dress.
Here is the entire collection, and watch our interview with Cioci to learn more about the designer's inspiration behind the fall 2012 collection.
