- Macy’s launched its latest designer collection, a collaboration with fashion designer Doo-Ri Chung. Featuring doo.ri’s iconic draping and love of lightweight knitwear and mixed fabrications, the “doo.ri for Impulse only at Macy’s” collection is modest, yet with fascinating details. From the choice of fabric to her signature draping, the doo.ri collection is a fusion of pieces that can easily transition from day to night. The line features soft fabrics, art-inspired prints and feminine silhouettes, all grounded in blues and greys with red, black and orange infused throughout. Prices average from $39-$159.[Macy's]
- Following in the footsteps of the successful high-tech shopping offered by InStyle, Glamour magazine is the latest glossy to open a virtual shop. Located in the Meatpacking District in New York City, the “store” is a virtual display, set up outdoors with scan-able 2D barcodes that correspond to a smartphone app. Scanning any code on the Glamour Apothecary Wall lets passersby purchase products from brands like C.O. Bigelow, John Frieda, Elizabeth Arden, and Versace. [The High Low]
- Barneys fashion director, Amanda Brooks, wore flats throughout New York fashion week because of a back problem that required surgery. "It's very liberating. It's amazing how much more emotional energy you have when you're wearing flats! You can go anywhere or do anything in flats. Something about heels just makes you want to lie down." Now isn't that something?![The Cut]
